Facts & Requirements
Successful completion of this course will count as one credit toward the required two credits of professional skills coursework required for graduation.
This course counts as one credit toward the nine required electives in the law school’s International and Comparative Law Certificate Program.
Your grade will be based upon completion of five assignments, each of which is worth 20% of the total grade. You must submit each assignment in order to pass the class and you should submit each of them in print in class on the due date identified in the syllabus. Only if you have to miss class on an assignment due date may you submit the assignment electronically.
You are responsible for reading the full assignments online and for following the directions or seeking clarification from the professor. The link to assignments is at the top of this screen.
The law school’s attendance policy (published on page 30 of the student handbook) entitles you to miss three sessions of this class. If you miss more than three sessions, you will automatically receive a letter “U” notation in your record to show unsatisfactory completion of the course.
While separate goals are identified for every lesson, the overall goal of the class is to give you practical experience with foreign and international legal research. So, the course is set-up like a workshop. You will get to use and talk about print and electronic resources while we are all together in class. If you have any reasons for not being able to participate in these ways, please make private arrangements with me.
